Death and Taxes and Funerals

I know this is a strange way to start a blog but death is a part of life…it’s the end of life…but it’s a part of it, nonetheless.

My uncle died this week. It’s been upsetting, yes. But what’s even more upsetting is that he died without a valid will.  So even though he had enough money for the funeral, his sister had to send the money to bury him. His money now will be largely depleted by probate costs. Wasteful, wasteful, wasteful.
